Hampstead,
NH, -- 6 January 2006 – The Hampstead Cable
Advisory Board has announced that Meetinghouse Park will again be hosting
a Summer Music Series during the summer of 2006, kicking off with the
1st Annual Meetinghouse Park Fiddle Championships and Jam-bouree
on Sunday, June 4th, 2006 starting at 12 noon, and
running to about 7PM.
The Fiddle Contest is expected to feature fiddlers from around the
area, and has 5 divisions for competition – Junior-Juniors, Juniors,
Seniors, Adults, and the Masters. The day will also feature performances
by the Cowtippers, who played the inaugural concert for the Meetinghouse
Park 2005 Summer Music Series last June.
The event is also intended as a Jam-bouree,
with musicians playing acoustic instruments invited to jam in several
areas around the park.
Sponsors and judges for the event are being sought. Sponsors are
asked to fund one or more of the divisions, with sponsorship packages
ranging from $85 to $500. In return, the sponsor is acknowledged from the
stage, can make the awards presentation to the winners of the divisions
they sponsor, and display reasonably sized placards on stage during the
division.
