HAMPSTEAD’S MEETINGHOUSE PARK SUMMER MUSIC SERIES
RELEASES 2006 SCHEDULE

Hampstead, NH, -- 19 March 2006   The schedule for the 2006 Meetinghouse Park Summer Music Series has been announced! The series, sponsored by the Hampstead Cable Advisory Board, features return engagements by two of last year’s acts, along with a diverse musical lineup designed to appeal to all music-lovers.

Kicking off the series on Sunday, June 4th, 2006 is the 1st Annual Meetinghouse Park Fiddle Championships and Jam-bouree starting at 12 noon, and running to about 7PM. This event is expected to feature fiddlers from around the area, with 5 divisions for competition – Junior-Juniors, Juniors, Seniors, Adults, and the Masters. The day will also feature bluegrass music from the Cowtippers, who played the inaugural concert for the Meetinghouse Park 2005 Summer Music Series last June.  The event is also intended as a Jam-bouree, with acoustic musicians invited to jam in several areas around the park.

Tuesday, June 20th features the return of the John Penny Band, with their exciting brand of rock, country, and pop music. John and his band played a great show for us last August, and their stirring music gave us all a thrill.

As a special treat, come and celebrate our country's birthday on Tuesday, July 4th, with the Timberlane Community Band, playing rousing patriotic songs that will get our hearts pumping!!!

On Tuesday, July 18th, we'll be having a great time with the 20-piece Windham Swing Band, with a repertoire that includes swing “standards” and other big band arrangements.

The Gloucester Hornpipe and Clog Society brings their eclectic blend of traditional Celtic tunes, songs from the British Isles , sea chanteys and other nautical songs on Tuesday evening, August 15th.

And Tuesday evening, August 29th brings a great throwback band - the Reminisants, with a repertoire that focuses mostly on oldies, but also features dance music appealing to a wide variety of musical tastes across the generations.

All Tuesday night concerts start at 7PM. Information on all shows is available at the Meetinghouse Park web site (www.MeetinghousePark.org), along with the new On-Line Shop for Meetinghouse Park Summer Music Series merchandise. Attendees are asked to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating. As with all concerts in this series, admission is free, and attendees are advised to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
